Going to CT for a week in Sept. Staying in Darien, eastern CT. WHat are some things to see and do?
I know about Mystic Seaport and the theater,, Westport Theater, started by Paul Newman’s wife and their restaurant.
Of course it is in western Ct, sorry. Just a mistake.
Um, isn’t Darien western CT? It’s near Stamford, which is arguably metro NYC.
In eastern Conneticut, I think the most fun things you can do are a trip to Mohegan Sun or over to Newport, RI.
Mohegan is one of the larger casinos in the country (larger than most in Vegas), it’s crazy nice… 20 min ride from Mystic. There’s Foxwoods too, but it’s not nearly as nice. Newport RI is a really nice (and quite touristy) boating city about an hour from Mystic.
